Project Burger

Case Study

Alameda restaurant Project Burger located on central avenue attached to the beautiful Alameda Cinema complex was in need of some facade renovation and sign repair. We were tasked with design and fabrication of a new blade sign with a laser cut logo. Taking from existing logo design we updated the signage and manufactured in-house a replacement sign front during restoration of the marquee wall as part of Alameda's small business growth initiative.

Our in-house designers were able to take the existing logo and apply it to an updated sign and fabricated out of laser cut acrylic lettering on a custom di-bond backer to mount into existing sign hardware.

Logo Design and Fabrication

Layout and art direction for the updated sign was done in-house using laser cut lettering matching color and typography of existing store-front graphics. Sign was custom painted and backer prepared. Letters were applied using a template and two copies were made for each side of the blade sign.

Facade restoration

Facade restoration was undertaken by Custom Contracting Solutions and included removal of old marquee sign, cleaning and repair of marquee tracks, sanding and paint removal on marquee face followed by primer and two-tone re-painting. Blade sign was cleaned and repaired and repainted.

Color and typography

Branding identity design color and typography guidelines are similar in nature to UX design but also include affordances towards print and as such can include CMYK or Pantone colors. The goal here is to create a common thematic color pallette and related typography with harmony and balance in order to provide a consistent visual language.
